Red Snapper Managed Services (RSMS) has been appointed by Slough Borough Council to deliver high-visibility enforcement patrols in the local area. RSMS aims to support the council by providing community engagement and reassurance in an area where there have been challenging issues with community relations.
Under the terms of the contract with Slough Borough Council, RSMS Enforcement Officers can enforce Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) and issue Fixed Penalty Notices.
This includes the issuance of on-the-spot fines of up to the value of £100, or the taking of offenders to court to face a heavier sentence. A conviction for breaching a PSPO could carry a fine of up to £1,000.
This launch is a landmark moment for the RSMS team as the contract with Slough Borough Council represents the inaugural deployment of RSMS enforcement officers to a Local Authority.
To celebrate the launch, local councillors joined employees from the RSMS management team, alongside local police and newly appointed enforcement officers, for a photo opportunity on the streets of Slough.
Regarding the launch, Darren Bradley, RSMS Manager, had this to say:
We are delighted to finally be able to launch our first enforcement patrol. Through the provision of proportionate, high quality enforcement services, RSMS are now actively helping to make communities safer, more pleasant places to live.
RSMS enforcement teams are comprised of highly experienced officers, normally with a law enforcement or security background. Officers work on behalf of Local Authorities and other public bodies to enforce against a range of environmental and social crimes.
