Red Snapper Managed Service (RSMS) is pleased to announce a collaboration with His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service in Wales. Our innovative collaboration will see RSMS provide digital evidence-based interventions for Probation Services in Wales to address substance use.
The Intervention Hub is an exciting initiative that will allow offenders to access online therapy programmes. All the programmes are evidence-based and can be accessed from any internet-enabled device, such as a mobile phone.
Studies show that encouraging offenders to confront their addiction through specialist support helps drive down their chance of committing further crimes.
The Intervention Hub itself uses digital Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CCBT), is available 24/7, and is suitable for all learning styles as audio bars, text and videos guide users through.
The service will be available from July 2023 through to 2025 where a full evaluation will take place regarding its effectiveness.
The Operations Director of RSMS, Jonathan Hussey, has stated:
“The Intervention Hub has a proven track record for having a meaningful, positive impact on individuals that struggle with a variety of complex issues. We are delighted to be working with the Probation Service on this exciting new project and are looking forward to making a difference in the local community.”
Tracey Owen, Head of Reducing Reoffending, HMPPS has commented:
“We know that tackling substance misuse is key to tackling reoffending and protecting the public. This new approach will help offenders access support in addressing their drug and alcohol use and help them turn away from a life of crime.”
