RSMS safeguarding services crosses a wide range of situations, from protecting the community from local tensions to detailed independent reviews into the welfare of people in care.

RSMS has over 60 independent review specialists across six regions with extensive experience with chairing independent reviews on serious and complex reviews associated with vulnerable persons.

Their experience covers both the police and local authorities, having worked with safeguarding boards closely linked to:

  • education services;
  • health services and
  • the police; forming multi-agency risk assessment teams (MARAC); and multi-agency public protection arrangements (MAPPA)

No one model is the same for a complex and sensitive review. The model must be designed explicitly to understand why the incident occurred and be able to extrapolate key information to enable to improve processes for future safety and safeguarding.

RSMS ensure that findings not only add value to the investigation, but also represent in a clear manner so that members of the investigative board are able to understand the case in detail. This ensures effective learning and improvement, preventing future deaths or serious harm happening again.
