An incident involving an RSMS Community Safety Warden in Slough has led to the arrest of a man on suspicion of using threatening, abusive and insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear or unlawful violence.
RSMS Community Safety Wardens are tasked with enforcing Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) and supporting Slough Borough Council with tackling anti-social behaviour and de-escalating community tensions in the local area.
The RSMS warden in question was interacting with a group of local men acting in breach of the PSPO when the incident occurred.
Working in partnership with both the Council and Thames Valley Police, the incident was escalated swiftly, leading to an arrest in less than 3 weeks after the offence occurred.
James Jeram, Project Manager from the RSMS team had this to say:
“We continue to work in partnership with all stakeholders to tackle anti-social behaviour in Slough. This incident highlights the close working relationship we have with both Slough Borough Council and Thames Valley Police and shows that this behaviour will not be tolerated.”
RSMS have been supporting Slough Borough Council since April 2019 and interacting with hundreds of individuals from the local community, submitting intelligence reports to the council and issuing fixed penalty notices to offenders.
RSMS recently had their contract with the council extended for a further 6 months.
